VILLASOL | SANXENXO
The house is located in a residential complex on the outside of the town of Sanxenxo. It consists of four floors and has two entrances, one on the semi-basement floor and another one for pedestrians on the first floor through a small garden.
Transformation of the space
The distribution of the house was adapted to the new needs of the family, going from a very compartmentalized space to a completely open space that facilitates the direct relationship with the garden and the terrace.
“The whole house required improvements in the distribution, lighting, furniture and finishes, so that the house would be more welcoming and practical and respond to the needs of the family both now and in the future” Paco Galiñanes.
The day area
The day area was designed in an open way to allow the participation of all the spaces in the common environment, as well as the maximum use of natural light.
The existing structure was integrated into the furniture, generating subtle elements of separation between the different spaces.
Harmonious and welcoming
The furniture was chosen and designed specifically for each room, as well as the materials and finishes, in order to create a harmonious and welcoming atmosphere.
A fluid space
The staircase was liberated, creating a fluid space open to the common areas to ensure visual communication between the different levels.
Warm and comfortable
The family’s bedrooms were located on the second floor. We sought solutions that would bring warmth to the rooms, as this was the most intimate part of the house.
We responded to the individual needs of each family member, paying special attention to the design of the storage spaces.
Balance and serenity
The finishes of the materials and the use of light through the different textures, improved the conception of the space, based on achieving a comfortable home with a timeless character.
The bedheads were custom-designed for each bedroom and the solid wood floor was stained white to increase the feeling of amplitude. All the spaces of the house were put in relation to each other to give it balance and serenity.
The program was completed with a generous study with a small loft enabled as a play area for children. We sought to make the most of all the spaces in the house, providing original solutions customized to the needs of its users.
