HORTA DO CURA | VILAGARCÍA DE AROUSA
The house is located on the outskirts of the town of Vilagarcía de Arousa, in a rural environment dominated by orchards and farms.
Integration
The project was developed on several levels to better adapt to the terrain slope, integrating a small pre-existing building of traditional character made of granite masonry.
Scale
The volumetry of the house was fragmented on the outside to adapt its scale to the environment, generating at the same time different spaces for each of the rooms.
Landscape
The relationship with the landscape was one of the main goals of the project, so the walls were oriented along the direction of the views so as not to interrupt them.
Live quality
From the entrance, the slope of the roof contributes to directing the views towards the exterior. The vibration of the natural light coming through the skylight of the staircase intensifies the textures of the materials, giving the interior space a live quality.
Calmness and warmth
The finishes play a fundamental role in the perception of space. The wood present in the furniture and in the roof structure brings calmness and warmth to the home.
